I visited Rites of Passage the 25th of may in the late evening. It was a groupexhibition, organised by some friends of mine. Unfortunately I missed the part where Julies hair came of. She has had dreadlocks from age 13 or so, and this night the dreads were tied to the inside roof of a container, and then cut of by friends and guest. Now they are hanging beautifully there - as you can see. Imagine almost 17 years of personal history comming of her head. I think it must have been scary, but also relieving for her.
At the performance Julie was wearing dress by Iben Lea Rasmussen, a friend studying design. Julies husband Sturla, who is a cinematographer made a film about it, but I was to late to see it. Maybe some other time. Before I went home i donated a little lock of hair like so many others had done that night.
